It is used to treat eye infections such as conjunctivitis (infection of the outer white membrane of the eyeball), corneal ulcers (ulcer that occurs in the transplant membrane of the eye called the cornea), acute bacterial otitis media (an infection of the middle ear), and otitis externa (an infection in the ear canal). Eye infections are contagious and can pass from one to another. Signs and symptoms include pink or red-toned eyes, itching in areas of eyes, teary eyes, thick discharge around eyes/ears, ear discomfort, etc.
