Gremox Tablets



Gremox tablets are having Acetazolamide 250mgs. Acetazolamide is a “water pill” (diuretic) used to prevent and reduce the symptoms of altitude sickness. Gremox (Acetazolamide) is also used with other medications to treat a certain type of eye problem (open-angle glaucoma).

Mechanism of action :
Acetazolamide is in the diuretic and carbonic anhydrase inhibitor families of medication. It works by decreasing the amount of hydrogen ions and bicarbonate in the body.
For the reduction of Intraocular pressure Acetazolamide inactivates carbonic anhydrase and interferes with the sodium pump, which decreases aqueous humor formation and thus lowers IOP.
