Grecaine is a local anaesthetic for ophthalmic installation. It consists of active proparacaine Hydrochloride 5mg with glycerine acts as a stabilizer. Hydrochloric acid/Sodium Hydroxide may be added to adjust pH from 3.5 to 6.0. Its action is rapid as the onset of anaesthesia begins within 30 seconds of the process and it can last up to 15-20 minutes.
